On the German fairytale route one follows the various life stages of the brothers Grimm the footsteps of the legendary sites of the Grimm fairytales.
The Münchhausen Museum in Bodenwerder gives you an insight into the life of Hieronymus Freiherr von Münchhausen (1720-1797), great-great-great grandson of Hilmar von Münchhausen, who built the Schwöbber castle in the year 1570. Hieronymus is famous all over the world for his tall tales, thus in German referred to as “Lügenbaron”, meaning “Baron of lies”.
